![]() Meet our spectacular new range of sparkling metallic waxes. They behave like our normal renowned waxes but leave subtle traces of gold, old silver, bronze or copper. We have been working for months on the AUTENTICO SPARKLING METALLIC WAXES and are very happy with the results. They look quite stunning in the tin as well. Just another great addition to the range of decorative sundries from the leading real chalk paint makers. Go for the real stuff, not for instant horrible coffee....

Here are the Crafty Nest we have a love of vintage windows and have amassed a large selection of Victorian and Edwardian windows. For quite some time we were mainly using them for hand painting French themed typography and designs, moving onto using chicken wire but have really found a nice in using them for Christmas decorations. Here are just a few - if you see something you like, let us know. We can make something similar for you. ![]() This multipaned Victorian Window is upcycled into this really interesting Christmas display, I have a number of Christmas stencils that I used as well as some free hand drawing - the snow flake was copied by tracing over a snow flake from a ribbon. The window is painted in Autentico Chalk Paint colour Passion Red then waxed to protect, topped with some silk holiday greenery. One unique decoration to display year after year ![]() This is a fairly small window, unsure of the age of this one. It's been turned into a chalk board with a little festive chalk art and Xmas bunting. I do have photos to do a step by step guide to chalk art and will be posting over the Xmas holiday period when I can finally catch up with all the blogs I had planned. ![]() This gorgeous Christmas Vintage Window is done using an Edwardian vintage window with coloured glass. I used a spray to create the aged looking mirror and then painstakingly painted the Christmas Tree and French typography using a Stencil from Maison de Stencil. This was the only time I used multiple colours as it was quite time consuming, thereafter I've used this stencil and it looks great using all white. ![]() This beautiful vintage French window I found in a local Antiques Market, it had no glass and because of the high cost of having the glass put in (long story about quotes ex VAT when I thought VAT included), I'd sat on this window and another similar for over a year. I decided to create a lovely aged looking mirror using a mirror spray. By adding these gorgeous little angel winds, it looks Christmassy - but you can change this decoration according to the season or have nothing at all. The mirror spray is Krylon Looking Glass Mirror Finish Spray. The real bummer about this stuff (which is great) is that it is very inexpensive in the USA but I have only found one supplier here in the UK and it is soooo expensive so I do use it sparingly on select projects. I'd love to use it more but it is rather cost prohibitive. If you do use this product, the key is light spray over multiple coats to build up the coverage, being very careful not to have any drips. |
